Collaboration of the Indonesian Women Association and Nomad Gallery brought an intriguing event to the capital city showcasing rich and varied culture and crafts of Indonesia.
The two day event is being held at the Nomad Gallery and features an exhibition and promotion of beautifully crafted Indonesian handicrafts and other products.
The exhibits include a stunning range of colorful and beautifully designed brooches, necklaces, bracelets, pins, earrings, rings, handbags, garments, tapis and batik products. However, the aesthetically designed tin wares particularly the exquisite tea sets remained the major attraction at the exhibition.
Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia H.E. Mr. Ishak Latuconsina visited Chiniot City on February 4, 2011. The City is known as the center of furniture and wood carving Industry in Pakistan. The objective of the visit to the city which lies about 350 KM South East of Islamabad was to witness firsthand the development of the furniture Industry and meet the businessmen to weigh up import export potential between Indonesia and Pakistan in the sector. On their arrival the Ambassador and his entourage were warmly received by the President Chiniot Furniture Association, Mr. Ahmed Khalil Malik, senior office bearers of the Association and businessmen from the furniture Industry.
